I was in an elevator at this 80 floor building in Atlanta whose top level was a restaurant. There were about 20 people on it and when we got to the top floor, the doors didn't open. Instead, it went straight back down to the bottom floor. On the way back down, one of the other people said, "Oh no, it's happening again." He then proceeds to tell a story about how this same elevator had gone up and down for two hours straight a couple of weeks before. By the time they finally got it stopped and the doors open, the passengers were all passed out.
When we got down to the bottom floor, the doors didn't open. The ride back up to the 80th floor was an exercise in panic. When we reached the top, the doors opened. 20 people all tried to squeeze through at once. It was hysterical. The poor hostess at the restaurant got stuck right in the middle of the stampede.
