I am currently on inpatient pediatric wards, but the most fun I have is when we admit new patients from the ER (every 4 days). I will take that as a

sign.
Inpatient wards is kind of lame. All the other services come and do things to our patients and then you are left just managing.
ER diagnosis (we confirm and follow up on labs)
Surgery comes and operates and then we take care of the post-op (did you poop today?)
Radiology images and reads (we schedule it)
We have another 2 rare diagnoses on the floor. ... along with our rule out constipation patient haha.
