Real Life Dear Prudence scenario........
|
From Mrs Disney sister:
Friend A has been single for a number of years and recently decided to go on e-Harmony. Shes only been on a couple of weeks. Friend A is meeting up with Friend B and other friends for dinner last Saturday. Friend A is checking out her latest matches from e-Harmony. One of the matches looks like Friend B's husband. Upon reading the profile, she discovers it is the husband. She is horrifed by this and tries to decide if she should tell Friend B and if so how.
She prints out a copy of the profile and tries to decide out what to do. Shes goes back to the profile to discover it is gone and there is no trace of it anymore. She still has the printout of the profile. She did end up meeting with the friend but did not say anything. Friend B and her husband have had a rocky relationship for a few years but Friend A is still worried about what if anything to say.
So what does ST think Friend A should do?

I'm wondering, if you're looking to cheat on your partner, why would you go on eHarmony? -- nm

maybe he's not looking to 'cheat'. maybe he wants out of the rocky marriage and he needs something to jump to.

it happens all the time. I think people think, "oh, if I'm in a relationship, my SO will never look to see if I have a profile at like match.com."

I'm assuming those matches go both ways, so husband saw he was matched with a friend of hers and delete-panicked?
