Of course, you won't be able to get a non-stop flight to LGA from the west coast.

I believe JFK has a flat rate $45 (+ toll and and tip) for taxis to Manhattan.
The interwebs tell me EWR to Manhattan is metered rate (approx 50-75) plus tolls and tip.

I recall LGA being metered and being less than JFK, though not cheap.
