His WTF podcast interview really changed my opinion on him for the better.

He's the picked-on fat kid who got in shape and had an attractive personality, so he partied hard - to the point of addiction - has now been sober for X years and is reaching an age where he's wanting to settle down.
It made him a far more interesting character than the cartoon that appears to be his persona.
