This is the same complaint people had about Moneyball. At the end of the day, most movies sacrifice realism for storytelling.

I even mentioned that the line of "explain this to me as if I were a child" in Margin Call bugs me, but it's the same thing that is done in say Hunt for Red October as an example. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the overall accomplishment of the movie. I particularly like what is done with Penn Badgley, Kevin Spacey and Tucci in the film. There is a moment you haven't reached yet with Tucci that is some of the best writing of the decade. It involves a bridge.
To a larger point, if I recall correctly, you weren't crazy about The Ghost Writer so we don't appear to line up on indie fare.
