With all the drug/alcohol-related deaths that occur in the music industry, why don't shows like the Grammys ever seem to address substance abuse?

Last night wouldn't have been the right time, since Whitney cause of death is not known, but it seems things like this happen (Amy Winehouse) and we mourn them but never address the cause.

And it's not just music, it happens with movies too (Heath Ledger being a key example).

Does substance abuse ever get addressed/discussed, or is it glossed over by the remembrances?
