It would be interesting in the modern era, though, when the primaries end so soon, and there's this big gap of time between primaries and convention.

What do they do for 2 months, stop campaigning? Campaign against each other in all states, or just big markets, or states where the races were closer?

There are no voters to convince any more, just delegates. How do you campaign to delegates?
