I think Whedon will just flat nail this. He has always been an expert in taking complex

characters and making you understand them without having to do endless exposition.
Black Widow - 30 sec to explain her. Shield OP agent - special missions...no super powers or origin needed.
Hawkeye - if they take the smart path his 30-45 seconds will be just like hers
I have read they just plan to assume you know Iron Man, Cap and Thor from their movies...I mean those movies made enough that you can assume that core audience will come and with all 3 in video easy and cheap for people to "catch up" - heck Hulk sorta falls into this
I see Iron Man be a quick Nick Fury saying - you are iron man you do this that and now you will be part of shield. Done
Cap - we saved you, you are super soldier - server the general..yes sir
Thor - how they work him into this THAT will be most complex and maybe take 2 min - 5 min.
Hulk - well there we know that Stark will be talking to him and shield will off to help cure him if he works with the avengers as needed - I hear tale that they will nod to first avenger story and have the avengers subdue the hulk (possibly triggered by Loki) and if so then the preview clip "WE have a hold" could be stark nudge at loki about previously foiling something he tried to do with banner.
Just my thought. If Whedon is Whedon. 20-30 min assemble and back story. Part 2 - avengers dont work well and get beat down and doubt themselves - finaly 3rd will be them coming together with ball swelling awesomeness and likely 30 min glorious battle and destruction that will make Bay jizz all over himself
