Dad had been the same way with me and said at Thanksgiving how smart we'd been to wait.

He really, really wanted me to stop paying rent, and it's pretty rare that I go against Dad's explicit wishes since he doesn't ask for much. It just never felt right, though. The only place we really liked was in the hick part of town.
