Who knows? This is the solution to the problem it's just going to cause other issues.

They keep going the wrong way with the changes. They're so insistent on going away from what worked for so long that they're ruining the game. There will never be a real pennant race if you can get in as the third place team in a division like the AL east.
They need to make the teams more competitive and as long as they keep ignoring the elephant in the room they're not going to get any kind of balance. The need a cap which won't allow the big market teams to bully the rest of the league.
Allowing more teams to make the playoffs isn't good for the game it's good for the pockets of the owners and MLB.
