Any suggestions for day trips in the Pennsylvania/New Jersey area?

We're going to a wedding in Virginia next month and don't really want to make the entire drive in one day. We were thinking Atlantic City, but haven't decided yet. Any suggestions?

AC is a good. Philly is great too especially if you like all the old historical stuff. Baltimore's inner harbor is a great day trip also -- nm
