i think the biggest problem i have was it was

too fast of a change.
we went from health packs, to no health packs (from H1 to 3) and that was huge.
ODST is a one off, so lets not include it here.
then suddenly, if you have health packs, and armor abilities that never existed, and different guns (h3 to R). thats too fast of a change. they could have switched back to health packs, with different guns and been find, but instead they threw away most of the basic core of halo3.
