st advice - coworker/office ettiquette(sp?) - if a co worker has a problem with me, should I ask about it?

co worker is directly on my team, does not report to me and we use to be friendly. he has a dry sense of humor but he's sharp as hell and a real asset to the team.
he barely even speaks to me any more - backed out of a boon doggle for tomorrow ( he said he has work to do and the traffic is bad - maybe true).
clearly - he's upset about something. should I ask? should I not care ( am I being too girly?)
this is not effecting anyones work so should I just let it go? he'll get over it.
it's just odd. cause - everyone LOVES ME. haaa.
anyone else have this happen?
