i have a 2003 volkswagon Jetta TDI (tdi is the abbreviation for diesel, so any VW tdi is diesel).

it has 122k miles on it, i bought it used.

there are markets (vw clubs, i am part of one, cannot remember it right now, remind me if you want the details) where people sell their cars to others that way, instead of going through dealerships. these cars have quite an after-market demand, especially the 03 and earlier models (higher mpg than the 04-06, but that might have changed now, i dont know).

i bought mine in 2007 i think, used with 35k on it, and the blue book was around 14k still at that time, mainly because of the demand for diesel.

its only a 4 cylinder, so its not the fastest gitty up an go, but it does fine on the roads.
