I think some of us were grumbling that the last few were lack luster and I agree. I think I know why. If you're a fan you're invested in some effort to follow the show but the last few episodes have required you to know a lot about the season. It was hard following why people were doing what they were because it required you to remember a lot of what had happened.
This episode, however, had ALL the groups present with the added awesomeness of them all circling each other.
Also...Michael Ironsides! Also...the reveal of the true Season 3 Bad Guy.
And on full display was one of the elements I really like about this show...the dialogue. There was one line by Art, when he pointed out to Raylan the folly of having shot the guy who was after Quarles. I could actually hear the line by Art in the hands of a less skilled writer. When I repeated it I actually butchered it in a way that a bad writer would. They very much pay attention, however, to words and phrases.
Good stuff.
