Does a student have an expectation of privacy in regards to a learning management system and the analytics it reports back, specifically re:video?

That is, if a system is reporting whether Judy watched a video of a lecture that was made available to her, *and* how much of that lecture she watch... is that system violating Judy's privacy?
Personally, it she has been instructed to watch a video, and that video has been made available to her, her expectation should be that her interaction with that video will be tracked, just like if she was asked to fill out an online quiz, her interaction with that quiz would be tracked.
This was asked of me yesterday, and that was my answer.
I also implied that there was no expectation of privacy in the classroom when attendance is taken, and this should be considered a digital parallel (I was going to say "digital analog", but that sounded silly).
