They ask you to receive payments from potential customers, withhold your payment, and Western Union the balance to them....

Whatever they're selling is generally a massive scam, and you're left responsible for the refund to the customer.
Or people send you counterfeit cashiers checks, you deposit, Western Union proceeds....rinse, repeat.
