I feel like your instinct to avoid confrontation is probably the right one. Giving her some space to evaluate her options is probably the best long-term option. 'If you love someone, set them free...' and all that.
Demanding answers and updates on her plans and feelings may come off as clingy and unwanted.
Just IMO.
