I was and am still a bit livid that my dad did nothing to encourage this when I was in school.
I had friends drafted who were not better than I was, but went to a school where the coach did a lot of legwork for his kids to get scouts contacted, set up workouts of groups of scouts, etc.....
Our school did not even report scores to the local papers.
