Although, I keep seeing articles talking about how retirement hastens death.

I mean, I don't want to be sitting in an office for 40 hrs/week at 70, but sitting in a deck chair on a cruise ship will kill you faster.
The goal should be to find a happy medium. Maybe teaching a class on one of those Semester-at-Sea boats.
