I haven't seen Porco Rosso yet but Mononoke and Spirited are must sees.

Ponyo is more of a kid's flick and I think that's the reason for the less than enthusiastic endorsements. It's one of my 8yo's favorite movies but for an adult, it's kind of like an old school Disney flick. Not bad but not as good as some of the others.
