this plays really well to the Whedonistas and the completely unfamiliar. If you're merely whelmed by his stuff in general it's not that impressive. I'm all over the place with it as well. I liked and respected that it was a different type of film if it was nothing more than classic Whedon. I might have to see it again to pin down if I merely really liked it or not.
I loved the unabashed usage of blood. I loved how the floor just got progressively more filled with gore, etc. I want to see it again just for the last 20mins.
