In response to "Keeping in mind that I've never been to Fenway Park, I've got a question..." by David

To some extent it's Lipstick on a Pig...especially, from what I've heard from the player perspective...

they've moved the indoor batting cages closer to the clubhouse, expanded the clubhouses, etc but it's still just rearranging the *ahem* deck chairs.

From the fan perspective it's night and day however. There are honest to god concourses, bathrooms everywhere, real food choices, new physical seats as well as new places *all over the park* to sit.

The park retained it's charm (Yankme fans used to the gaudy new Cathedral of Capitalism they call a park will call it dumpy) for Red Sox fans and upgraded the experience by many many factors.
