I don't post much about my fighter tenants any more, but this is so sad

One of my tenants collapsed in the gym. He was unresponsive so he ended up in the hospital. He was cutting weight for a fight and tried to lose too much too fast. He's OK now. But he won't be fighting this weekend.
I got a call about him because he listed me as his emergency contact. I'm only his landlord, I don't even manage him (he's still an amateur) and I think we've only been in the same room four times.
I talked to him on the phone and he was really embarrassed about causing me to worry and I told him it was OK. When I asked him about the emergency thing, he said he hoped it was ok, but that "nobody else gives a damn about me" and also that I get his death benefit from his job if he dies. He has no idea who his dad is, his mom OD'd when he was a teen. Spent high school years in several foster homes. No other relatives.
He's a good guy. He has a full and part time job, trains as much as he can and stays out trouble. Pays his rent on time. Can't have a gf cuz he's broke and tired all the time. But he's 23 and has nobody in life to put down as an emergency contact except me.
That's just sad.
