He doesn't really have the free time. He hangs out with athletes mostly and they are in complete denial about injuries and death.

But yeah, I can see him having some self esteem issues, which is too bad, because he's a nice helpful guy. He always offers to get me in places and tells me about restaurants that just opened.
I think once he goes pro he'll feel better about himself, unless he loses a lot, and that would be very bad.
