yes, you mentioned you emailed him, that's great. it was an hour later though, the damage was done.

i think you've taken enough grief over this, but I have to say this because i still don't think you get the 'why' of it all. Yes, you were joking with your initial statement, Max was clearly not the right target, fine. I think the biggest issue was that you made it sound like *Max* was the one in the wrong with your use of the word 'charming', and no public mea culpa at that point. that's all.

this should not have been an all day discussion, but i think it turns into that when you don't take ownership of any of the drama.
