ST, do you have any recommendations for a reasonably-priced, quality video camera?

One with card storage, not video tapes. For all I know that is standard now, I am technology dumb.
Thanks.

Any good consumer digital camera or DSLR will do. Don't get a dedicated consumer video camcorder. Do they still make those? -- nm

I disagree. I love my DSLR for video but not for general purpose shooting of events/family. The lack of autofocus is a killer -- nm

They've started putting auto-focus into D-SLR in the last couple of years. But, yeah. Duh, no auto-focus, no buy. -- nm

If you go the DSLR-video route, you also need a better microphone. -- nm

Yeah, audio is always overlooked. But some of the best videos on Vimeo use a D-SLR and these cams usually have great accessories. -- nm

Is this just for family and misc things? Honestly, my best recommendation is to use an iphone. -- nm

I'd tend to agree. My wife uses her iPhone far more than any other camera/recorder we have and we have both a Canon

I'm always partial to Canon and pretty much everything is SD card now -- nm
