I think it's a poor argument to say cigs and alcohol are legal even

though they have lots of bad effects, both personally and for a community, so why not legalize this other thing that has many of the same ill effects on individuals and communities.
Never mind the the number of people using would increase, increasing the ill effects.
None of which is to say how we prosecute drug users is going well or accomplishing much of anything.
