so, you could be on www.slackertalk.com and go to just slackertalk.com and lose your cookie.

It's clunky. :)

If it's remembering a joke nick on www.slackertalk.com but not www.slackertalk.com/index.php, then it might be that your browser is filling in the text on its own.
