Has anyone here ever suffered from this - DeQuervian's tenosynovitis - basically just super painful when you move your thumbs/wrists?

It's not carpal tunnel. It's commonly called "mommy thumb" because a good number of new moms complain of it after months of picking up their babies.

Holy crap, it hurts so much. The simplest of tasks (washing a dish, putting on clothes, grabbing steering wheel, and of course lifting the baby) make me want to yell out in pain.

I'm wearing thumb splints as much as I can, but it's not doing much. Wondering if this is something anyone here has suffered and if it's gotten better without cortisone shots, surgery, etc. I *really* don't want to have to do that if at all possible.

I have a doctor's appt later this week but I'm sure my GP is just going to refer me to someone else.
