yesterday, my boss came by at 3:00 to tell me that the board of directors presentation, which is totally his responsibility, needed a draft worked up

by this morning for a review meeting at 1:00. Provided no direction whatsoever. So what I did was, I worked on my laptop til midnight, banged out a motherfucker of a presentation, and he just stopped by impressed I did that overnight.
In retrospect, I possibly should have done a shittier job because since I totally bailed him out, he'll be less reluctant to pull shit like that a second time. Damnit.
