In response to "Ouch. My Dr. seemed to think i'd be back at work "in a couple of weeks." But then, he's just does the cutting, not the rehab. (nm)" by howie

not sure if you saw my bb post, but I know several people who've had them, including 2 who've had both knees done (not at the same time).

(although, trivia! I remember that I saw a hugh downs piece on 20/20 years ago talking about his having had both of his done at the same time, due to his particular issues.)

anyway! 2 weeks would be *very* exceptional to be fully out and about and do normal sitting at a desk/running around. depending on what's in the mix (general health and strength and specific actitivies and level of activity), doctors usually say a normalish level of activity will be possible in 3-4 weeks, if all goes well. most people can be getting around without a walker or cane in 4-6 weeks.

my realtor was driving herself and walking without a cane in about 5 weeks; but she was still a little tippy and probably should have kept the cane for outside, at least.

hopefully you can do a mix of working from home and going to the office? in any case, taking care of yourself and healing properly is most important. pfft to the coworker!
