I can see calling it either way and I'll admit I was biased and angry at the time. With that being said this was one of the worst officiated games

I'd seen in a few years. That first was so badly officiated that I was honestly thinking there was something fishy going on with the refs.
I can't say the refs cost the Knicks that game, they shot so badly from the field I don't think it would have mattered, but they made it much easier for the Heat by sending them to the line 26 times in the second quarter while the Knicks shot six free throws.
