IBC 5-year survival rate is ~25-50%, which, while sucky, isn't that bad* compared to some other cancers.

it's bad in other ways - it's one that metastasizes a lot, and addressing the metastases without chemo is tough.
if I was really anti-chemo, and odds weren't increased that much for it, and taking quality of life into consideration... I think I'd make myself available for different kinds of clinical trials. biological + radiation, things like that. they're not all wonderful and non-impacting, but they could offer a sort of in-between situation that would/could possibly give more hope not just for myself and other IBC patients but others who have similar/extra-spready cancers.
if nothing changed, then I'd certainly focus on living the best life I could.
