In response to "reading the BB.. so Max what symptoms did you have thinking it was an appendicitis? (aside from right lower quadrant pain)" by James Bond (aka Igor)

I just wanted to be sure

I started with nausea yesterday morning. Usually when I get these cases they go away within 24 hours. But this morning the nausea was still there, my stomach was really taught, and when I vomited it was intense and the pain didn't go away. The pain was most severely located at the top center of the stomach, and just wouldn't go away, and actually got worse after I vomited. That was unusual so I went in to rule out the appendix before it might have gotten worse.

By late in the day the pain had subsided some (but is still with me now), and since I didn't have a fever (though I feel warm now), the doc dismissed appendicitis. In prodding we found that I was tender in the intestines on both sides of my hips. The doc says it's probably gastroenteritis, suggested I get some omeprazole, and stop eating spicy foods for two weeks. There was no discussion of diverticulitis because I forgot my mom had that 25 years ago. Also no discussion of hernia.
