G+ has its uses. As a replacement for Facebook isn't one of them.

It's a combo of Feed Reader and Blog Aggregator for me.
Plus, a lot of the things Facebook has added recently are a direct response to G+ having the feature. The big one is the ability to "subscribe" to a Facebook page without the owner having to friend you.
