Seeing Bird fade away was heartbreaking. I loved Bird despite the name on his Jersey.

I still have my Bird jersey from the very early 90s. Seeing him laying on the floor near the bench game after game was awful. The things he would do and the pain he was in just to keep playing was awful.
He was the first basketball player I worshiped and idolized.
