RE your B2 post about Obama's position on gay marriage: I agree with you that he probably supports it.

And if a repeal of DOMA crossed his desk today he would enthusiastically sign it.

But I think there still is political advantage to his "evolving" views and not giving a full-throated endorsement of it.

There is still an awful lot of casual homophobia out there to be used by gay marriage opponents and a flat out statement of support from the president may not be in his best political interests.

I wish that this were not so, but I'll vote for a guy who sounds wishy-washy over it but will support it when it matters over a guy like Romney who probably has a 100% chance of vetoing a repeal of DOMA in his first term and a 60% chance of vetoing it in his second.
