He admitted he hit him on purpose to teach him some kind of lesson. Not only is that not part of the game it's dangerous. What is they ball came out just a bit early and it went at his head? Throwing at someone not to protect your team or a player but just to be a dick is very wrong. He should be suspended for three starts.
