i'm sorry to hear that, i hope this is truly rock bottom. for me i think it was a period of gaming, drinking, and bad relationships.. in response to

depression. it's hard to get out of a funk. i was under a lot of debt, not enjoying my job, having trouble meeting people... it was not a happy point in my life and i wasn't really doing anything to help myself.

i really got out of that by making a few big changes at once - moved, started a new job, removed some folks from my life. it takes a desire to change.

unfortunately, nobody can get someone moving, they need to have a motivation. hopefully your son's experience was horrible enough it jolts him in to some action.

hang in there - we all make mistakes, some more spectacular than others, and change is possible.
