I am very old school. A bank reconcilliation should be done every month

- you can find errors in your favor or the other way andyou can track any non electronic payment - as a slow to clear check (most people have to cut a few each month) could be off and not know it.
Last month I found a deposit my bank messed up... they credited me 20 and not 200 and if I didnt do the reconcillation I would not have known
