And let me clarify. I tell her where she is financially. She makes the decisions for her money - I just do all the moving around of it or execution of all the electronic stuff since we usually take the joint bills (each pay half) and pay with my card that gives points and then both xfer our half to my credit card (she doesnt have a points one). So I just do all this for expediencey.
I guess I didnt think about when she jokes that "she has to check with the accountant" that the kids wont see that as a joke. Crap I didnt even think about it that way. I do feel like the family accountant and I dont mind that but I do make HER tell them yes or no. I try very hard to not be the front man. Now if they ASK ME for money or something personally - I have no issue telling them no. I did take the family to see avengers and had to tell everyone no to candy becasue well tome it was a waste of money and well I tend to be cheap.
So I guess I have to tell her to be careful with saying that as now I can see how that makes me look like the gatekeeper and decision maker
This is one reason I will probably never merge finances - keeps the line pretty clear to me.
I have had to loan her like 100 bucks once or twoice for something but she always pays me back.
I have stabled the horse and melted the asrmor down..one reason I love her is she is sooo independet...had a technical professional job and doesnt NEED me financially...but I am more organized :)
