They have the option of filing seperately. What are they, choosing to get screwed? Unmarrieds don't have the option to file jointly. -- nm

it's not that simple... child tax credit disappears, you still get hosed on the Roth IRA, also community property states make it worse -- nm

single and joint but separate are not the same thing, when you get married you get two new options that in most cases are both worse than single
