we hosted a party for my parents' 40th (not a surprise), we invited all their old friends, etc.

it was a nice buffet dinner in a private hotel dining room for about 45 people. cake. music from the year they got married. lots and lots and lots of photos of them from the beginning to now. their wedding album. speeches. blah blah. they loved it.

and, my father died before their 45th, so, i'm glad we did it.
