In response to "Yeah, don't get me started on the la leche leaguers. They basically told us our child was better off starving than being formula fed. -- nm" by spamlet

Heh. (overshare)

I have been meeting up with a group of moms who all had their babies in February. We meet once every few weeks just to take a walk, chat, etc. Nothing fancy. Every single one of them was breastfeeding at that point - except for me. So we're sitting at a table in a restaurant, surrounded by strollers, and of course half of them whip the girls out and start breastfeeding. Whatever. I don't care what you do.

I pulled a bottle out and added the formula, and all of a sudden it was all eyes on me. I started getting questions about why I wasn't breastfeeding, did I try, etc. Honestly, I shouldn't have to explain myself or justify why I'm not. But I do anyway, because "I tried, to the point of taking meds to stimulate production, but it didn't do the trick so now he's on formula" seems to appease them. "Oh, she tried."

They are nice ladies, but really, I don't need the glares and the looks and the comments when I pull out formula. It's not poison!!
