i am going to buy a powered usb hub, and build a little box for the pi.

hdmi to the tv, cat5 for internet. i will probably run some sort of linux. i wonder if it could run mythtv backend, using an hdhomerun tuner, and xbmc as a front end.

would it make sense to use something like the Hauppauge HVR-1950 with it.. add a little power and offboard processing. -- nm - colin May 11, 14:21 12

  - it's a tuner, but uses its onboard processing to do the encoding when you record and then transfers the file data over to the controlling computer -- nm - colin May 11, 14:31 1
