whats the difference between that and a hdhomerun

the hdhomerun just makes the antenna feed available via a network, no transcoding (just a raw mpg2 stream).
the roku, and the pi, cannot play mpg2, then can handle 4, so i will have to transcode everything i record (meh, no big deal, i use to do that all the time when i ran mythtv).
