Batter overruns first base, then for some reason decides to run to second. What about the base path?
From what I gathered, he doesn't have to follow the standard first base to second base path as long as there's not attempt of a play on him, he could run from where he stopped his overrun and go straight to second. However, one a defense player attempts a play at second, he should be pretty much back on the path. Is that right?
