His path has to be reasonable is what I meant. If he makes the turn in the outfield grass

he can't just follow the grass all the way to second. He needs to be in some sort of path to second that isn't so far out of the normal base path.

It's tricky and you'll see guys pretty far out, the umps tend to give them a lot of leeway. But I've seen umps call interference, it's really a judgement call by the ump.
